Compare St. Louis IT Providers

Nine respected providers serve businesses across the St. Louis metro and Metro East Illinois, and the right fit depends on what your business actually needs. Below is our honest, side by side breakdown, including the times a competitor is the better choice.

What Actually Matters When Comparing MSPs

Every provider on this page will tell you they are the right choice. Here is the framework we think actually holds up, the same five questions worth asking about any of them, including us.

What a Provider Actually Measures

Ask what a provider reports on. Reaction speed tells you how quickly someone picks up the phone. The more useful question is whether you are calling less often this year than you did last year, so ask any provider, including us, how their clients' ticket volume has moved over twelve months. We publish our resolution SLAs, and we beat them. The goal behind them is Silent Success: prevention, root cause analysis on recurring issues, and an after action report when something significant happens, so your support calls go down over time.

Whether Pricing Is Visible Before a Call

A provider who publishes pricing respects your time and treats you as someone capable of comparing options on your own. Ask whether a company will share a real number before you sit through a sales presentation. Our pricing is published, starting at $125 per user, per month, so you can compare us before you ever schedule a call. A provider unwilling to share a starting price is asking you to trust blind.

What Is Committed to You in Writing

Friendly promises during a sales call mean little once you sign. Ask what is actually committed in writing: response commitments, contract length, and what happens if the relationship does not work out. Our contract is a 12 month agreement, with the right to renew for an additional 24 months. Terms are discussed at proposal. Get every commitment in writing before you sign anything.

Who Owns the Company

Ownership shapes decisions. Ask whether a provider is locally-owned or if they answer to a private equity group or a national holding company. Many respected local providers, including The Miller Group, Acumen, GFI Digital, and Pearl Solutions Group, are family or founder owned, similar to NOC's own independent ownership. GadellNet has been owned by a national MSP group since 2022. Local, independent ownership generally means decisions get made close to home, by people who live with the results.

How a Provider Proves Its Outcomes

Anyone can claim great service. Ask for evidence: case studies, references you can actually call, and specifics about what changed for a real client. We publish our own results, including a future focused IT strategy case study and a cybersecurity compliance case study. A provider confident in its work will show it to you without hesitation.

Ask all ten, of every provider on this list

We published a list of ten questions to ask any managed IT provider before you sign, and we wrote it long before we built these comparison pages. Question number one is "why should we work with your firm?" and the bonus question right after it is "why shouldn't we." We answer that second one on every page in this section.

Four of the ten are worth calling out, because most providers publish no answer to them:

  1. How do you prioritize support requests? Ask for expected response and resolution times for everyday problems and for critical issues, and ask whether after hours work carries a fee.
  2. What reports go to the management team, and how often? Monthly reporting is nonnegotiable. A provider with no reporting cadence is telling you something.
  3. What does a transition to your service look like? A mature provider has a documented onboarding playbook and can tell you what they need from you before you sign.
  4. Can you provide references or case studies from similar clients? Ask for businesses that look like yours.
