Project-Based IT Services
One-Time Technology Projects Done Right

Need help deploying new technology?

Not every business needs a full managed IT contract. Sometimes you need expert help for a specific project: an office move, a server migration, a network buildout, a cloud transition. You need someone who knows what they're doing, can work without constant hand-holding, and hands everything off cleanly when the job is done.

That's project-based IT. NOC Technology has been delivering technology projects for St. Louis businesses since 2009. We always work with a written scope, a fixed price, and a clean hand-off when the work is complete.

The Problem with "We'll Figure It Out As We Go"

Technology projects go sideways when:

  • the scope isn't clear
  • the vendor doesn't understand your environment
  • or the work gets handed off to whoever is available that day.

When this is how your project is handled, suddenly an office move becomes a three-day outage, or a server migration breaks line-of-business software. Changing to a new cloud service might leave users locked out of their own files.

The difference between a smooth project and a painful one is usually preparation. NOC Technology spends time upfront understanding your environment, your constraints, and your definition of done. We document all of this, agree on a timeline, and then we execute.

Your team doesn't need to be IT experts; you just need to know what to expect.

Technology Projects We Handle

Office Moves and Relocations

Moving offices is one of the most disruptive technology events. We manage the full technology side of your relocation: network tear-down and rebuild, workstation moves, VoIP and phone system setup, internet coordination, and same-day connectivity at your new location. We coordinate with your landlord, ISP, and any other vendors involved.

Server and Cloud Migrations

Whether you're moving from aging on-premises servers to the cloud, consolidating infrastructure after an acquisition, or migrating from one platform to another, we handle the planning, execution, and testing. We don't just move data — we validate that everything works the way your team expects it to before we close the project.

Infrastructure Upgrades

When hardware reaches end-of-life or your environment has grown past its original design, a targeted upgrade project can stabilize things without a full overhaul. NOC Technology scopes infrastructure upgrades carefully, sequencing the work to minimize downtime and leave you with a documented, supportable environment.

Network Design and Buildout

A well-designed network is one you never think about. A poorly designed one costs you in downtime, performance issues, and security gaps. We design and build networks that match your actual usage — adequate coverage, appropriate segmentation, and documentation that makes future changes straightforward.

Technology Deployments

Rolling out new software across a business is harder than it looks. User provisioning, configuration, training, data migration, integration with existing tools—it all has to happen in the right order. We manages software deployments end-to-end, from planning through go-live and post-launch support.

Security Assessments and Remediation

If you've had a security incident, are preparing for a compliance audit, or just want to know what your actual exposure looks like, a security assessment project gives you a clear picture and a remediation plan. We deliver findings in plain language—what the risk is, what it would take to fix it, and how to prioritize.

Fixed Pricing. Written Scope. Clean Handoff.

Every NOC Technology project starts with a written proposal: scope of work, timeline, deliverables, and a fixed price. You know what you're paying before anyone touches anything. Try our interactive pricing tool at to get a starting point. We're always available to talk through the specifics of your project.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does project-based IT pricing work? +
Project-based IT is scoped and priced before work begins. NOC Technology provides a written proposal outlining the scope, timeline, and fixed cost — so you know exactly what you're paying before anyone touches anything. Some projects with unknown variables are quoted on a time-and-materials basis with an estimated ceiling. Either way, you approve the number before the work starts. No surprises.
Can you work alongside our existing IT team? +
Absolutely. Many of our project clients have capable internal IT staff who simply need extra hands for a large initiative. We're comfortable integrating with your team's workflow, your ticketing system, and your communication preferences. We bring the specialized expertise and capacity; your team stays in the loop and takes over when the project is done.
How long does a typical project take? +
It varies considerably. A focused server migration might take a week. A full office relocation with structured cabling, network buildout, and workstation setup might take four to six weeks. We scope each project carefully and give you a realistic timeline upfront — including what we need from you to hit it. We don't overpromise and then scramble.
What happens if something goes wrong after the project? +
Every project includes documentation of what was built, configured, or changed. If an issue arises after the project closes, NOC Technology stands behind our work. Warranty terms are spelled out in the project proposal. For ongoing support after a completed project, many clients choose to add a managed IT plan — which means we're responsible for keeping what we built running properly.
Do we need a managed IT contract to hire you for a project? +
No. Project-based IT services are available to any business, whether or not you have a managed IT relationship with NOC. That said, many businesses find that after working with us on a project, moving to a managed plan makes sense — especially if the project surfaced ongoing needs. There's no pressure either way.
