Providing IT support for all of St. Clair County

The email from your prime contractor lands on a Tuesday. There is a NIST 800-171 clause in it, and a date.

You forward it to your IT company. Somebody calls back the next afternoon and says they will look into it. A week passes. The clause has not moved, the date has, and a contract paying for a third of your floor rests on an answer nobody at your provider is credentialed to give. In St. Clair County that email lands in a lot of inboxes, because the base down the road buys from shops that never set foot on it.

NOC Technology is an independently owned managed IT provider founded in 2009 and headquartered in Washington, Missouri, serving Belleville and St. Clair County businesses of roughly 10 to 150 employees.

Every IT company in the Metro East promises you the same four things:

24/7 monitoring

Local presence

Experience

Fast response

Read four of those websites in a row and you see one promise from four angles: how fast somebody reacts once your day is ruined. Reaction sells well. It is visible, it feels like service, and it bills like service. A provider whose revenue rides on ticket volume has no reason to kill the thing generating tickets, and the firms bragging hardest about pickup speed are picking up the problems they picked up last year. We call that Hero IT: quick rescue, cause still in the building.

Here is the question that settles it in one phone call: Ask your provider how many tickets your company opened last month, then the same month a year ago. Flat or climbing means you are paying for rescue. Falling means somebody is doing prevention. And you can ask us the same question!

Silent Success

The only number we want to be judged on is the one that's going down.

Prevention is the entire product. Your technology is supposed to work for you. We watch servers, endpoints, network gear, and your Microsoft 365 tenant around the clock, and much of what we repair gets repaired overnight.

Closing a ticket and ending a problem are separate achievements. Anything recurring gets root cause analysis. The login loop, the printer that vanishes every Monday, the backup that fails quietly: we chase down why, and it stops.

Anything significant comes back to you in writing. An after-action report covers the incident, the change we made, and the recurrence it rules out. One page, ready to forward to your insurer or the prime contractor asking.

The scoreboard is your support calls falling over time. That is the outcome we ask to be measured on, and what Silent Success means with the marketing off.

Compliance

Our owner is a CMMC Registered Practitioner. Eliminate your compliance drift.

Start with compliance

St. Clair County's defense supply chain comes with homework.

Scott Air Force Base contracts flow down to shops that never see the flight line.

Belleville is the largest city in St. Clair County, and Scott Air Force Base sits in the same county with a contractor and logistics base around it. Those contracts flow downhill. A prime signs, and months later a clause about controlled unclassified information lands on a machine shop with eleven computers and no compliance department. The deadline is real and the contract is at risk.

Our owner, Jon Lober, is a CMMC Registered Practitioner. That credential is why we can read the clause you were sent, tell you which controls it obligates, and build the plan instead of forwarding you to a consultant. Ask every provider on your list whether a credentialed Registered Practitioner works there, by name.

What that looks like in practice. Schwoeppe Machine and Tool is a precision machining firm in the defense supply chain. They needed NIST 800-171 compliance to keep the Department of Defense work they had and win the work they wanted next. We built the posture, closed the gaps, and stabilized the infrastructure under it. Read the Schwoeppe case study.

We may be far away, but help isn't.

Local support

Almost everything a managed IT provider does happens over the network, and it happens faster that way, with a technician inside your systems while you describe the problem. Monitoring, patching, security, backup, Microsoft 365, phones, and most tickets never needed anybody in the building.

We come to you

Work that needs hands can be scheduled: a switch swap, a server cutover, a Wi-Fi survey, an onboarding week. Our technicians will come to you for all you on-site needs. Check our coverage areas.

No off-shore help desk

NOC Technology is independently owned, and headquartered in Washington, Missouri. Every call comes straight to that office, where you'll speak with someone who can get you the help you need.

We publish the price before anybody calls you

What the agreement costs, and what leaving your provider involves.

Most IT quotes here surface after a discovery call, a needs assessment, and a slide deck. Ours is on the website. Put your user and device count into our pricing page /pricing and a real monthly figure comes back before you speak to anybody. Your worst month and your best month pay us identically, which is the incentive you want your provider carrying.

Switching is the part owners dread, and the risk of it belongs on our side of the table. Onboarding is a project we run for you: document the environment, take custody of credentials, stand up monitoring, deploy backup and security, then cut over around your production calendar. See switching to NOC and transitioning your IT.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does managed IT actually cost in Belleville?

We publish it, which makes us unusual here. The estimator gives you a real monthly number from your user and device count, before any salesperson is involved. Flat rate, security included, no per-ticket billing, so a bad month for you never turns into a larger invoice from us. Bring your current agreement to the first call and we will read it with you.

  • Is NOC Technology based in Belleville?

No. Our office is in Washington, Missouri, on the west side of the St. Louis metro, about 70 miles by road from Belleville, and we have served this region since 2009. Almost everything we do for you reaches you over the network.

  • Do you come to the Metro East in person, or is support remote?

Both, deliberately. Remote resolves most tickets faster, because a technician is inside your systems while you are still describing the problem. Scheduled work brings a person to you: switch swaps, server cutovers, Wi-Fi surveys, new suites, and onboarding weeks. When something genuinely needs hands on the hardware, it gets hands on the hardware.

  • How fast do you respond when something breaks?

We put a clock on resolution, and our performance against that clock is published on our SLAs page. Answer speed is simple to advertise and simple to game, so it tells you very little about a provider. The measurement worth trusting is your own ticket count this month set against the same month last year. Ask us for ours in the same conversation.

  • What is the difference between managed IT and break-fix support?

Break-fix bills you per incident, which pays your provider more the worse your year goes. Managed IT is a flat monthly agreement covering monitoring, patching, security, backup, and day-to-day support from a team that already knows your network, so the incentive moves to preventing the incident. That is why we ask to be judged on your ticket count instead of our answer speed.

  • We supply a prime contractor at Scott Air Force Base. Can you handle NIST 800-171 and CMMC?

Yes. Jon Lober, our owner, is a CMMC Registered Practitioner, so the clause your prime sent gets read here instead of forwarded to an outside consultant. We carried a Missouri precision machining firm through NIST 800-171 to protect its Department of Defense contracts. Ask every provider you are considering whether a credentialed Registered Practitioner works there, and ask for the name.

  • Do you provide virtual CIO services in Belleville, IL?

Yes. A vCIO gives you the planning a full-time IT director would: a written technology roadmap, a hardware and licensing budget you can plan a year against, security and compliance priorities in the order they matter, and vendor management. It arrives through a regular Technology Business Review rather than a surprise project quote. See Business Consulting.

  • We are under contract with another provider. What does switching involve?

Less work for you than you expect, because we run it as a project. We document the environment, take custody of credentials, stand up monitoring, deploy backup and security, then cut over around your production calendar. You get one named lead and one written plan with dates, and your outgoing provider deals with us instead of with you.

  • How long is your contract, and what happens if we hate it?

Twelve months, with the right to renew for another twenty-four, and the terms are discussed at proposal before you sign anything. Your first ninety days carry the guarantee: we refund your previous month's service costs, help you move to another provider, and hand over every piece of documentation we have compiled along the way.

  • What security is included in the monthly agreement?

Layers, because any single product leaves gaps. Managed endpoint protection, email security, multi-factor authentication, 24/7 threat monitoring, dark web monitoring, security awareness training, and data loss prevention for the AI tools your staff already use. All of it sits inside the monthly agreement instead of arriving later as an upsell after an incident. See  Cybersecurity.

  • Do you support medical and dental practices with HIPAA obligations?

Yes. Access controls, encryption, audit logging, backup requirements, business associate agreements, and staff training, for medical, dental, and veterinary offices. The team maintaining your systems also maintains the evidence that those systems are compliant, so a records request or an audit stops turning into a week of scrambling for screenshots.

  • Who is NOC wrong for?

Anybody buying on price alone, anybody running fewer than ten computers who wants hourly break-fix help, and anybody who needs an engineer sitting in the building every day. We will say so on the first call rather than six months into an agreement, and we will usually tell you who to call instead.
